Orbital Imaging Captures Entrenched Meanders of the San Juan River in Utah

What Was Observed (Empirical Data)
Earth-observing instrumentation imaged Goosenecks State Park in southeastern Utah, documenting a series of deep, entrenched river meanders carved by the San Juan River. The data illustrates how tectonic uplift of the Colorado Plateau forced the pre-existing river channel to incise downward through over 300 meters of sedimentary rock strata while preserving its sinuous horizontal path.
The Reality Check (Anti-Hype Analysis)
Despite the description of the curves as improbably curvy, entrenched meanders are a well-documented geological phenomenon resulting from the interplay of fluvial erosion and regional tectonic uplift over millions of years. While visually similar to relic fluvial channels studied on Mars, this release is a standard terrestrial geomorphology observation and reports no new anomalies or geological discoveries.
