Deep Narrowband Mosaic Resolves Five Galactic Supernova Remnants in Auriga

What Was Observed (Empirical Data)
A 200-hour wide-field narrowband imaging mosaic conducted at the Oukaïmeden Observatory in Morocco maps an expanse of approximately 1,000 full moons across the constellation Auriga. The observations isolate ionized hydrogen and oxygen emission lines to resolve the expanding filamentary shock boundaries of five distinct supernova remnants: G181.1+9.5, G182.4+4.3, G179.0+2.6, G180.0−1.7, and G178.2−4.2.
The Reality Check (Anti-Hype Analysis)
Despite evocative descriptions of 'ghosts' appearing in close celestial proximity, these remnants represent independent, unrelated stellar explosions situated at vastly different distances along the galactic line of sight. The composite image illustrates historical shock fronts and diffuse interstellar gas rather than an ongoing cluster of explosive stellar activity or a local radiation threat.
